• UNIT NAME Unit 46 Paediatric Oncology High Dependency Unit
• Paediatric 0-14 years
• Mixed Gender 24 hours / 7 days per week 14 100%
Primary patient Diagnosis:
• Leukemia
• Lymphoma
• Neuroblastoma
• Sarcoma
• Aplastic Anemia
• Fanconi Anaemia
• Myelodisplastic Syndrome
• Wilms Tumor
NURSING PROCEDURES
• Age Specific Pediatric Care
• Immunocompromised Patient Care
• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living
• Point of Care Testing-Glucose and Urinalysis
• Peripheral Venous Cannulation and Blood Draw
• Central Venous Catheter Blood Draw and Management
• Portacath Management
• Administration and Management of Chemotherapeutic Agents
• Assisting with Intrathecal Chemotherapy Administration
• Blood and Blood Product Administration
• Pain Assessment and Management
• Total Parenteral Nutrition Administration
• Pre and Post Op Care
• Bone Marrow Aspiration (Assisting)
• Lumbar Puncture (Assisting)
• Conscious Sedation
• Paracentesis
• Graft Versus Host (GVH) Management
• End of Life Care

• Registered Nurse
