Eram Talent is seeking an experienced rig electrician to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical systems on drilling rigs, ensuring the safety and efficiency of all electrical operations. You will conduct regular inspections, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on drilling rigs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and implement repairs as needed.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical panels, generators, and other related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
  • Work closely with the rig crew to maintain uninterrupted electrical operations.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior electricians and other crew members on electrical safety practices.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent acceptable to Saudi Aramco.
  2. Associate's degree from a technical college acceptable to Saudi Aramco.
  3. Manufacturers training courses, a minimum of two (2) of the following:
    1. Ross Hill SCR Systems
    2. IPS SCR System
    3. Baylor SCR Systems and Brake Controllers
    4. Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
    5. Caterpillar Engine Controls
    6. Martin/Decker Instrumentation
    7. Air conditioning and refrigeration training course
  4. Two (2) years in the electrical field with not less than two (2) years' experience in the oil and gas drilling industry.
  5. Subject matter expert knowledge of all electrical test equipment associated with the electrical maintenance of drilling rigs, i.e., VOM, digital multimeters, oscilloscope, megger, phase rotation detectors, etc.
  6. Working knowledge of computers with a minimum capability of using Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  7. Familiarity with API, ABS, IEEE, and SOLAS standards.
  8. Good leadership skills with the ability to perform on-the-job training for rig electricians and trainees.
  9. Necessary English skills to communicate verbally and in writing (e.g., letters, forms, and reports).
  10. Communication skills necessary to submit reports, complete forms, and converse with supervisors and management in English.
  11. Working knowledge of drilling operations to ensure knowledgeable recommendations and decisions are made to minimize interruption of rig operations.
