Senior Accountant

Description

Master-Works is looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to join our finance team. The senior accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role entails oversight of the accounting processes while collaborating closely with other departments to provide financial insights and drive financial performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and fund management to ensure accurate cash positioning.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard assets.
• Assist with the annual budget preparation and forecasting process.
• Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and answers to auditor inquiries.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a corporate finance environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
