JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Principal Responsibilities:
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be confident while conversing with people and audience

• Comprehensive understanding of the Trade life cycle
• Should be aware of market wide risk and compliance policies such as AML Information Security, BCP, Pandemic planning etc.
• Should have comprehensive understanding of the Asset Servicing Practice and role of the said practice in the Financial Service Industry as a whole
• Knowledge on systems used market wide such as TLM, SWIFT etc. is desirable
• Knowledge on systems used within Northern Trust would be an advantage
• Financial knowledge on International and domestic markets would be an advantage

Major Duties:
• Take ownership and serve as the Single Point of contact regarding the aforementioned projects and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders. Support in taking them to closure
• Should be able to understand organizational goals, strategies and should be able to help the team’s performance in achieving the same
• Ensure that the SLA / KPIs are being performed in a timely manner
• Timely updating of process related documentation
• Active monitoring and timely reporting of exceptions
• Maintain technical knowledge of operations in order to resolve unusual and complex problems
• Displays extremely high ownership for both the team and the process. Steps up and makes effective decisions wherever required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Team members & Middle office
• Get involved in various new and on-going projects within the Trade and Settlements Division
• Develop and maintain specific subject expertise, Good understanding of Swifts instructions, swift tags and provide inputs as required
• Maintain risk management and control activities for their assigned group
• Aggressively investigate exceptions upon notification to ensure timely resolution to avoid aged exceptions and loss due to errors
• Pro-active & able to perform multi-task, provides hands on training for new staff and cross training for experienced staff
• Ensures response/resolution is completed within the established deadlines/SLAs and appropriate priority levels are applied to key client deliverables
• Maintains data for collation and provision of MIS
• Sustainable performance demonstrated through examples/evidence, the above listed core skills and competencies in the current role over a period of at least 24 months

REQUIREMENTS

Skills/ Qualifications:
• A Graduate from any discipline (Commerce background is preferred)
• Prior experience in Trade and Settlements area would be an advantage
• Candidate having prior experience and background with Asset Servicing/Financial services would be preferred
• Must be flexible to work in shifts and/or on a rotational basis
