JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
- Perform new hardware installations
- Perform hardware troubleshooting and component replacement
- Collaborate with outside teams to resolve issues
- Provide leadership to junior members
- Creation of standard operation procedures and knowledge articles
- Provide creative solutions to reoccurring problems and capacity demands.
- Responsible for asset and inventory management
- Execute preventive maintenance on the collocation and sometimes supervise other contractors to perform activities
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide afterhours support as needed
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system
- Some travel may be required
- May assist in the design and build out of new facilities
- May assist in projects to increase current facility efficiency
- May assist in recruiting efforts
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of Data Center Technician experience
- Must exhibit good communication and grammatical skills in English
- Has a Positive Attitude
- Has a Sense of Urgency and is Pro-Active
- Self-starting
- Client focused attitude
- Profound experience with Linux/Windows or VMware
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling
- Understanding of storage devices
- Understanding of scripting languages
- Must have valid driver's license and their own vehicle
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized and able to coordinate with other team members
- Candidate must be able to travel to nearby sites periodically
