Senior Database Administrator

Responsibilities

- Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes in line with leading practices
- Establish working relationships with relevant internal stakeholders
- Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on issues being faced and other requirements
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports directed to all relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of progress
- Keep abreast of the latest updates and best practices in DBM industry to suggest new database products, services, standards, and guidelines
- Participate in workshops with concerned functions to align on storage procedures and relevant database guidelines and standards
- Assist in database design and development of related data models as needed through supporting in schema design, code review, and query tuning
- Collect database requirements and accordingly develop / update database structure design and design considerations
- Write and deploy complex codes to support in building databases or data management systems as needed in line with design components and relevant guidelines and standards
- Develop database objects (i.e., tables) in line with pre-identified requirements and expectations, and import data into tables as needed
- Assist in writing efficient and optimized queries to extract different tables or data sets from databases
- Support in creating automation for repeating database tasks and automating live data extraction
- Fix issues and bugs to solve database usage issues and malfunctions as needed to enable and / or optimize performance and functionality
- Develop and update technical and training manuals to support users.
