Job purpose

Creating comprehensive mechanical system designs and schematics for diverse projects. Conducting thorough analyses of project requirements, developing and rigorously testing mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to deliver efficient and reliable solutions. Providing advanced solutions that meet technical specifications and project objectives, while optimizing both performance and cost.

Key accountability areas

Design and development:
Develop intricate mechanical system designs, schematics, and layouts for projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
Perform detailed load calculations, system simulations, and performance analyses to verify that designs are efficient, reliable, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.

Documentation and compliance:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and currency.
Ensure all designs adhere to national and local mechanical codes, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.

Collaboration and communication:
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems with other building systems and project requirements.
Engage with clients to understand their needs, offer technical expertise, and present design concepts and solutions.

Project management:
Review and approve design modifications and changes, ensuring they meet project goals and specifications.

Problem-solving and innovation:
Identify and address design issues, conduct system testing, and provide solutions to technical problems during the implementation phase.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance design processes and solutions.

Academic qualification

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
