Senior Operations and Maintenance Infrastructure Engineer - DevOps

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job description

  • Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure.
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers.
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results.
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes.
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions.
  • Hands-on Ansible Tower and apply use cases.
  • Updates and fixes and provide level 2 technical support.
  • Build tools to reduce the occurrence of errors and improve customer experience.
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop scripts to automate visualization.
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Ability to provide estimation of effort for technical developments.
  • Ability to manage stream deliverables.
  • Responsible for issue resolution post go-live and transition to support.
  • Maintain software and support life-cycle management of microservices and machine learning components through CI/CD.
  • Provide innovative solutions for high-quality products, optimization, problem fixing, automation, and support product and security documentation.
  • On-call responsibilities: being on call to respond to urgent infrastructure issues outside of regular working hours may be required.

Technical skills

  • System administration experience includes but is not limited to Windows, Linux system administration, SCCM, DHCP, VMware, MS Exchange, MS Azure, DNS, 365, Alibaba Cloud, Oracle Cloud, backup administration, virtualization systems, Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of server administration and troubleshooting VMware ESXi.
  • Knowledge of cloud AWS and Azure as administrator.
  • Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
  • Deep knowledge of OpenShift and ACM (Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API and integration with multiple third-party nodes.
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows.
  • Good knowledge of Ruby or Python.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Collaborative team spirit.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Linux.
  • Experience in REST, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, TDD, CI/CD, and workflow management such as Prefect, Argo, Jenkins, Ansible, and GitLab-CI.
  • Experience in Python programming, Agile software development methodologies, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Experience with pub/sub systems, e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, and ML DevOps.
