JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
- Forecast demand and purchase the necessary materials, supplies and equipment for assigned products including expedited parts while balancing on-time delivery goals, meeting inventory turns goals and minimizing obsolescence.
- Maintain production plans to support the forecast, adjust those plans to actual demand and work with production control on constraint issues in order to meet customer requirements.
- Negotiating supplier agreements
- Resolving supplier quality and commercial issues
- Coordinating ECO implementations
- Facilitating product introductions and redesigns
- Assisting engineering by identifying alternative manufacturers and qualified suppliers.
REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year degree in a related field with experience in a purchasing / planning role in a build to order environment.
- Electro-mechanical product experience and an understanding of technical drawings and specifications are necessary.
- CPM or APICS Certification desired.
- Strong planning, leadership, analytical, communication, and follow-through skills are required.
- The successful candidate will also be detail orientated, work well under pressure to produce results, and demonstrate self-starting ability.
- Experience with IFS or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system required.
