Senior Project Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives, milestones, and timelines.
    • Coordinate with project teams to track the progress of tasks and resolve scheduling conflicts.
    • Monitor project critical path and propose adjustments as necessary to ensure timely delivery.
    • Develop and manage resource-loaded schedules to align with procurement and construction timelines.
  • Cost Control & Budget Management:
    • Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of all project costs.
    • Monitor project expenditures, perform variance analysis, and report financial status to stakeholders.
    • Identify cost overruns or savings and recommend corrective actions to minimize financial risks.
    • Support in preparing financial forecasts and project funding requirements.
  • Risk Management:
    • Assist in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks related to schedule, cost, resources, and scope.
    • Develop and monitor risk mitigation strategies.
    • Report and escalate issues impacting project progress to senior management.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, highlighting key performance indicators, deviations from plan, and corrective actions.
    • Ensure proper documentation and tracking of project control activities for audits and future reference.
    • Provide input for project status meetings, tracking key milestones, and updating management on any critical issues.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
    • Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align on project goals and activities.
    • Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
    • Serve as the central point of contact for all project control-related inquiries.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that project control systems, processes, and tools meet industry standards and best practices.
    • Support the development and implementation of quality management systems for the project.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Experienced in project controls in the oil and gas industry (downstream experience preferred).
    • Proven experience in managing large-scale downstream projects, including refinery, petrochemical, and infrastructure developments.
    • Strong background in project scheduling software.
