JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Responsibilities:
• This position reports to Section Manager, responsible for planning & execution of Value Engineering Study Workshops during different phases of project life cycle
• Looking after compliance of Value Engineering (VE) as per SAVE International (USA) Methodology in all Mega/Capital Projects of SABIC in KSA and Globally
• Facilitate/participate in Value Engineering Study Workshops
• Guiding cost estimators for achieving proper cost estimation of Value Engineering Proposals.
• Preparing Cost Model to identify major value improvement areas
• Preparation/review of Value Engineering Study reports.
• Review of Risk Analysis workshop report as part of pre-study for VE workshop
• Review Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis of Value Engineering Proposals
• Analyzing and reviewing Change Orders as a result of Value Engineering Proposals
• Reviewing and approving Value Engineering Implementation reports
• Updating dashboard of savings from Value Engineering Stu dies reports
• Conducting Value Engineering awareness presentations/courses within organization
• Coordinating other Value Improvement Practices (VIPs) e.g. Lessons Learned, Classification of Facility, Design to Capacity, Process Simplification, Constructability Review etc.
• Providing project support for ITB preparation, ITB Quality Review with respect to Value Engineering requirements
• Technical Bid Evaluations of bidders’ submitted proposals with respect to Value Engineering requirements
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering.• 15 years’ minimum experience in petrochemical or oil and gas manufacturing organizations, with roles in process, operation, maintenance, technical support services, project engineering, and/or project management.
• 10 years’ minimum experience in the Value Engineering area, including facilitating workshops and preparing reports.
• Experience with EPC companies.
• SAVE certification (VMA and CVS)
• Experience in leading/facilitating Value Engineering Review Workshops & Value Improving Practices Reviews in a project’s environment.
• Intermediate to Advanced computer and software skills, including word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs.
• The role demands a high level of expertise in Value Engineering and a strong background in the petrochemical, or oil and gas manufacturing sectors.
• Facilitates Mega Projects in FEED.
