JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job Role
The Works Manager will oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards. Before the project starts, a Works Manager prepares and plans by allocating resources in accordance to the budget, preparing equipment and carefully planning the work to be done. While the project is in progress the Works Manager will monitor and report on progress, ensure efficient use of labour, plant and materials and guarantee safety is never compromised. Daily site issues will be resolved in conjunction with the PM to ensure work is not delayed. He will also keep the client updated regularly on progress or issues affecting time or quality. It is the responsibility of the Works Manager to ensure that project is completed on time.

Deliverables of Job Holder

Manage and coordinate labour on the Works
• Workforce productivity
• Achieve daily productivity goals assigned by Project Manager
• Ensure timesheet accurate & timely submission
• Organise training for all team members where required.
• Upon completion of the training, the Works Manager will assess whether the training has been completed successfully.

Maintain high quality standards on the Works
• All work to pass internal QA check through submission of reports in a timely manner.
• Constant communication with PM for actual work status and pending work.

Manage material usage on the Works
• Minimise material wastage
• Ensure maximisation of resources

Project Compliance and Reporting
• Record & documentation of work done according to guidelines, testing & commissioning and handover to clients.
• Operational adherence to company Standards
• Compliance with ITP/quality processes

Safety
• All near misses, incidents, accidents to be reported same day using the appropriate form
• Ensure all procedures are followed in regards to safety requirements as required by law.

Personal Competencies
Working relationships

Internal
• Work closely with the PM in the coordination/planning of project methodologies and programme along with the day to day running of the project.
• Liaison with the PM / QS for the upkeep of claims, variations, delays and to feedback budget
anomalies, trends etc. to assist future pricing
• Model behaviour for workers and supervisors, provide technical support and feedback without direct management authority (based on professional and technical leadership)

Salary:
GBP 55,000 to 60,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

REQUIREMENTS

External
• Must work closely with sub-contractors and suppliers to support the effective delivery of projects
• Must be able to communicate well with the client and other stakeholders to assist the PM as required

• Ability to work on own initiative, in an effective & productive manner with minimal supervision to
deliver a reliable & trusted quality results
• Ability to ensure that high-priority work and rescheduled priorities are accomplished within
required timelines
• Ability to manage job processes, tasks, and work products to ensure high quality error free output
• Ability to communicate clearly information to individuals or groups in a manner that helps them understand the objective

Functional Competencies:
• Ability to develop & sustain good relationships with all key internal & external parties including clients & related parties to the project which the Company needs to engage with
• Ability to analyse technical issues, identify solutions & advise on corrective actions
• Ability to accurately plan work, priorities & allocate resources, reduce wastage & improve
performance through the correct deployment of tools & methods in own work scope area
• Ability to maintain updated and accurate records for inspections & review by management or
relevant parties including official inspections to ensure full conformance to health and safety regulations
• Ability to read and interpret drawings & knowledge of construction detailing, construction codes & standards

Dimensions
• Day to day full time Works management of specialist sub-contract works, with project values of approximately $100k - $8 million SGD
• Direct and indirect reporting responsibility for >30-50 pax (including sub-contract labour) on
project by project basis
• Responsible for tactical deployment of workforce, plant, and Works logistics to enable achievement of project cost/time/quality goals.

This is a role we expect to base in SG but projects could be across Asia. Hands on training capability is an absolute must for concrete finishing power trowels. Equipment operation/maintenance of laser guided laser screeds an advantage.
The role would be on a single status based on living in a shared company property. No problem with conjugal visits but difficult if permanent.
Salary on offer is S$8,500 tax paid + accommodation.
