Job description
- Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures
- Responds immediately to all work requests which concern health and safety
- Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner
- Operates, maintains and repairs all audio, visual, lighting and related equipment
- Ensures the optimum performance of all A/V and lighting related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance routine
- Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency
- Completes all work orders with due diligence
- Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions and activities
- Maintains A/V and lighting shop drawings and files
- Maintains equipment catalogue and tagging directories
- Completes tasks as assigned by AV supervisor / shift supervisor
- Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area
- Reports and documents potential safety hazards
- Participates as directed in the emergency response team
Qualifications
- Good command of English, both written and verbal
- Experience and knowledge of modern hotel rooms facilities equipment and set-ups
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Customer-oriented with a professional demeanour
- Secondary school plus technical college or equivalent
- Diploma or degree in audio-visual technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining various AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and lighting controls
- Experience in managing and scheduling AV teams for events and daily operations
- Proficiency in using AV control systems and software
- Knowledge of current AV technologies and industry trends
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 kg
