Job description

  • Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures
  • Responds immediately to all work requests which concern health and safety
  • Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner
  • Operates, maintains and repairs all audio, visual, lighting and related equipment
  • Ensures the optimum performance of all A/V and lighting related equipment by effectively following the preventive maintenance routine
  • Evaluates and appropriately responds to equipment usage and energy efficiency
  • Completes all work orders with due diligence
  • Maintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions and activities
  • Maintains A/V and lighting shop drawings and files
  • Maintains equipment catalogue and tagging directories
  • Completes tasks as assigned by AV supervisor / shift supervisor
  • Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area
  • Reports and documents potential safety hazards
  • Participates as directed in the emergency response team

Qualifications

  • Good command of English, both written and verbal
  • Experience and knowledge of modern hotel rooms facilities equipment and set-ups
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Customer-oriented with a professional demeanour
  • Secondary school plus technical college or equivalent
  • Diploma or degree in audio-visual technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining various AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and lighting controls
  • Experience in managing and scheduling AV teams for events and daily operations
  • Proficiency in using AV control systems and software
  • Knowledge of current AV technologies and industry trends
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 kg
