Job description
AC Technician
- Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to avoid system breakdowns.
- Replace or repair defective parts such as compressors, motors, and thermostats.
- Test electrical circuits and components for safety and efficiency.
- Clean and inspect air filters, coils, and other components to maintain air quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests.
- Coordinate with other technicians and departments to complete tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in HVAC preferred
- Relevant HVAC or refrigeration certification or license (e.g., EPA Section 608 certification)
- Proven experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical components related to HVAC systems
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in HVAC work
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to handle equipment and work in various conditions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
