JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

An accountant is responsible for managing financial information and recording transactions for a company or organization. They ensure that all financial records are accurate and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They also analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to help the company make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:
• Record and maintain accurate financial information: The accountant is responsible for recording all financial transactions in the company's accounting system. This includes processing invoices, payments, and other financial documents.
• Prepare financial statements: The accountant prepares financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide an overview of the company's financial performance.
• Conduct financial analysis: The accountant analyzes financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. They use this information to make recommendations to improve the company's financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations: The accountant ensures that all financial records and transactions are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. They also keep up-to-date with changes in financial laws and regulations to ensure the company's compliance.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable: The accountant is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable and accounts payable. They monitor outstanding payments, follow up with clients, and manage vendor relationships.
• Prepare tax returns: The accountant prepares and files tax returns for the company, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting: The accountant helps prepare the company's budget and forecasts by providing financial data and insights.
• Conduct audits: The accountant conducts internal audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and processes.
• Provide financial advice: The accountant provides financial advice to the company's management team to help them make informed decisions.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial laws and regulations.
• Proficient in using accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Professional certification, such as CPA or ACCA, is a plus.
