JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Key Purpose

- The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a line maintenance team to provide comprehensive engineering and maintenance services covering the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and Closed Circuit Television system (CCTV) for Dubai Metro.

Reason for role

- AFC TL is responsible for carrying out all the planned and unplanned maintenance tasks of AFC and CCTV asset safely, timely and ensuring quality and audit compliance.

Structure and reporting relationship

- This position directly report to AFC Engineer ( AFC TL to AFC Engineer to AFC Manager )

Based on the specific requirement of the role

Key accountabilities

- Lead a team of AFC technicians to carry out all level of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on AFC and CCTV systems covering automatic gates, ticket vending machines, ticket office machines, central control, AFC station equipment, Indoor/outdoor IP based CCTV cameras, Video recorders and related components;
- Supervise the installation, servicing, and repairing of AFC and CCTV system located in stations, depots, car parks and central computer room;
- Ensure the team uses proper hand, machine, electrical and electronic tools and reference to technical drawings, signaling schematics, manuals, procedures and work instructions when performing repair and maintenance work;
- Supervise the replacement of AFC/CCTV equipment modules, handover/take back to the electronics workshop for repair;
- Knowledge and competence in technical standards will be regularly assessed;
- Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of automatic fare collection system and equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerized maintenance management system;
- Ensure the maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition;
- Provide technical support to other staff for the implementation of complex systems or new projects;
- Assist subordinates with the job familiarization and to provide training and assessment where required;
- Conduct performance review for AFC Technician;
- Assist and support the AFC Engineers in conducting disciplinary and grievance meetings for AFC Technicians;
- Perform shift and emergency duties when required;
- Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty;
- Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the AFC Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

Qualification/Knowledge

- Vocational trade certificate or ordinary diploma in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent;
- Sound knowledge of metro AFC system including TVM, TOM, Gates, CCTV system;
- Basic know how of electronic and mechanical repairs;

Skills

- Thorough understanding of the use, calibration and care of various electronic test equipment and ability to interpret instructions in a variety of written, verbal, pictorial forms in order to carry out the maintenance activities as required;
- Ability to compile technical reports, routine business correspondence, prepare method statements and drawings as required;
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities;
- Preferably a holder of a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience

Experience

- Minimum 3 years work experience as a qualified electrical or electronics technician in maintaining and repairing automatic fare collection system covering automatic gates, ticket vending machines, ticket office machines, CCTV system and related communication components, is highly preferable;
- Preferably with 1 year of supervisory experience in leading a team of technicians in carrying out the maintenance activities;
