JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

To organise, manage and direct all activities of Aircraft Cabin Maintenance (ACM) to achieve and maintain a pristine cabin / serviceability of in-flight entertainment (IFE) and cabin systems for all EK fleet.

Manager Cabin IFE & Systems: responsible for delivery of aircraft cabin systems and eliminating blocked seats, IFE malfunctions, cabin dispatch sensitive activities and dark flights.

Job Outline:
- Monitor and analyse Technical Cabin log entries to ensure they are effectively managed. Identify repeat defects and plan effective rectification, thereby reducing schedule interruptions, passenger discomfort and unnecessary spares usage. Must conduct daily cabin audits to ensure the expected standards are achieved.
- Develop processes and IT/ AI systems to improve output, repeat defect identification and deferred defect control systems to cater for the planned expansion of the fleet. Provide staff with real time defect information to assist in troubleshooting and rectification, thus minimizing/eliminating passenger complaints, discomfort & operational disruptions.
- Maintain effective coordination and liaison with EK Engineering Senior Management and other internal/ external stakeholders to ensure prompt and efficient rectification of all defects.
- Must seek technical resolutions and mitigate risks regarding lack of spares and support.
- Ensure all Air/Engineering safety reports/defects/incidents are reviewed to prevent similar incidents. Responsible for reporting significant issues/incidents to Senior Management and providing a full report and recommendations / actions outlining how the issue will be avoided in future.
- Attend and proactively contribute to the daily Engineering Operation meeting to ensure all significant engineering activities over the last 24 hours are reviewed and discussed.
- Ensure an action plan is implemented in relevant cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and refer to analytics and defect history to research and implement strategies/tactics to continuously improve service quality, standards and costs. Must ensure passenger sensitive items are fully serviceable from DXB and coordinate with stakeholders to minimise outstation defects.
- Manage and lead a team of professional Engineers, Technicians & Mechanics with respect to morale, discipline, safety, performance, and training to ensure staff are developed, motivated and contribute to continuous improvement in productivity and image.
- Must ensure the team is fully conversant with all technical issues and rectifications.
- Research and plan for future developments, manpower and other resource requirements, including introduction of new aircraft type / cabin systems, in line with the airlines growth trajectory.
- Ensure year-on-year productivity improvements and high utilisation of all resources, thus contributing to the company's cost control drives.
- Prepare and control annual business plans / budgets within the parameters set by senior management.
- Ensure that scheduled maintenance tasks are complied with according to the airworthiness requirements & safety standards, whilst maintaining full serviceability from Dubai above 99%. Must hold shift managers and assigned engineers accountable for maintenance activities conducted on the aircraft.
- Plan, organise and control the activities of Engineers, Technicians and Mechanics to ensure that all scheduled & unscheduled maintenance activities, aircraft logbook entries and deferred defects are addressed promptly and effectively to improve the overall serviceability, appearance, and hygiene on the EK fleet.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering. Cabin : 10+ Years
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :
- Degree in Engineering/Maintenance or Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent training in aircraft maintenance with an airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organization.
- ICAO type II Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License or UAE GCAA License and EK type training
- Experience in commercial aviation Base/Line/Operational maintenance of which 5 years as a Manager or senior Engineers or similar position.

Knowledge/skills:
- Will handle time constraint operational issues as routine and maintain a calm working environment when exposed to highly stressful situations.
- An in depth knowledge of technical issues that will ensure necessary support to his staff in non-routine situations.
- Excellent communication skills
