JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Responsibilities:
Application Discovery:
• Conduct application discovery activities to identify software applications used across the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including end-users, IT support teams, and business units, to gather application requirements and usage information.
Application Packaging:
• Package software applications for deployment using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or other deployment tools.
• Customize and configure application packages to meet organizational standards and requirements.
Application Testing:
• Test packaged applications to ensure compatibility, functionality, and reliability across different operating systems and hardware configurations.
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of application deployments to verify successful installation and functionality.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Document application discovery findings, packaging processes, and deployment procedures.
• Generate reports on application inventory, packaging status, and deployment activities for management and audit purposes.
Troubleshooting and Support:
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and IT support teams for application-related issues.
• Investigate and resolve application deployment failures, compatibility issues, and other related problems.
Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve application discovery, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Propose and implement automation solutions and best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application owners, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure successful application deployments.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns related to application discovery and packaging.
Requirements:
Requirements:• Experience: 1-3 years
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in application discovery and packaging, preferably in an enterprise environment.
• Knowledge of software packaging techniques and tools, such as Microsoft App-V, MSI packaging, or other application packaging solutions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or similar software deployment tools.
• Understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and group policy management.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and customization of application packages.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented procedures and guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and tools related to application discovery, packaging, and deployment.
