Lead an Application Engineering function that drives growth in capital projects by shaping winning bid strategies and delivering highquality, ontime proposals. You'll combine commercial acumen with strong technical leadership to convert RFQs into profitable orders and ensure seamless handover to project execution.

Description
* Own bid strategy and execution for capital projects, ensuring proposals meet customer requirements, submission dates, and technical specifications.
* Lead and develop the Application Engineering team, promoting safety, coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing capability development.
* Drive proposal quality and throughput-resource plan, prioritise RFQs, and tailor systems/processes to improve win rate and cost accuracy.
* Interface with customers and sales to clarify scope, align technical offerings, and follow up to secure orders.
* Coordinate crossfunctionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Operations to obtain vendor quotes, validate lead times, and support handover to execution.
* Implement document control and governance across the bid lifecycle-from RFQ receipt to project documentation retention.
* Support contract/terms clarifications and modifications, escalating as needed, and contribute to postaward closeout reviews to capture lessons learned.
* Champion continuous improvement (PLS/lean mindset), targeting year on year productivity gains and improved estimate?to?actual performance.

Requirements:
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline; strong knowledge of capital equipment and process industry applications.* Significant commercial exposure within industrial/Oil & Gas/petrochemical/aviation fuels markets; proven track record leading application/proposal engineering for multi?disciplinary projects.
* Demonstrated people leadership-work allocation, coaching, performance management, and talent development.
* Comfortable shaping bid strategy, balancing price/lead time/spec compliance, and improving cost accuracy and win rates.
* Confident engaging directly with customers and remote sales teams across multiple countries; persuasive communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Organised, analytical, and delivery?focused with strong planning, document control, and follow?through; flexible and self?motivated, with willingness to travel within the region
