Employment: Full Time

Our client is a leading organisation within the oil and shipping industry whose services include oil products, ship owning activities, marine fuels/lubricants and more. They are looking to expand their workforce by hiring an Assistant Controller / Controller in UAE (based in Dubai).

The organisation is a well renowned oil and maritime corporation with more than 500 employees spanning across multiple countries in 4 continents. Their last recorded revenue was over 2 billion USD which is equivalent to more than 5 million tonnes of oil products distributed.

Description

As their new Assistant Controller / Controller, you will be part of a skilled team consisting of eleven colleagues of both Accountants and Controllers. The team attend to a broad variety of tasks. You will be strongly involved in various activities across the group, which will give you the opportunity to build a strong network globally and will report directly to Head of Finance MEA.

Your main responsibility will be financial controlling and it is important that you thrive in an ambitious environment, know the importance of meeting your deadlines and value close dialogues with your colleagues. The responsibilities include:

• Conduct controlling and reviewing
• Monthly and annual closing of numbers
• Participate in cross functional projects.
• Assist strong key stakeholder management
• Estimate as per the required timeline.
• Preparation of Forecast and Budgets.
• Data and cost controlling.
• Ensuring legal and regulatory financial compliances
• Audit co-ordination and finalisation
• Tax controlling including VAT fillings
• Derivative as well as contract management (financial contracts) controlling

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant financial education or similar position and/or as an auditor
• At least 3 years of experience in a relevant position
• CPA qualification is mandatory
• Experience from the oil and shipping industry is preferred
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in both written and verbal English
• Structured and detail oriented
• Strong analytical mind-set
• Pragmatic with a practical approach
• Strong communicator at all organisational levels
