Job description

Bank ABC seeks to recruit an assistant relationship manager (ARM) in the wholesale banking department based in our DIFC branch, in the UAE. The ARM will be responsible for supporting UAE local corporate unitu2019s growth in delivering on a UAE strategy aimed at leveraging existing and new capabilities across the banku2019s core markets and sectors by offering a full range of solutions and services to its clients.

The candidate will be responsible to:

  • Assist in portfolio management and creation of credit packages - comprehensive analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual reviews.
  • Monitor and manage allotted account portfolios and assist in minimizing financial risk.
  • Assist in developing, converting new relationships and manage existing relationships with the RM / SRM.
  • Analyze business objectives and ensure achievement of all product mix for all relationships.
  • Prepare briefing memos/reports for senior management meetings in addition to various industry/ad hoc reports.
  • Manage client communication and counseling for customers and prepare required documentation.
  • Identify potential business opportunities which fit ABCu2019s credit and risk appetite.
  • Actively seek referrals from existing customers for other business units within ABC network.
  • Plan account relationship plans to generate new business along with the RM / SRM.
  • Update oneself on the banku2019s products, credit standards and trends and provide efficient customer services.
  • Coordinate with the banku2019s other departments (operations, treasury, credit etc.) to ensure that the most effective performance/experience is delivered to the client.
  • Responsibilities of the role

    Reporting to the unit head, local corporates, the job holder will:

  • Support the RMu2019s / SRMu2019s in covering the assigned sector.
  • Partner with both WB client coverage and products areas.
  • Interact/correspond with clients and various internal departments.
  • Support WB coverage in all credit related client tasks including portfolio management, budget monitoring and management, portfolio monitoring, risk assessment and management, credit and risk reporting etc.
  • Areas of knowledge, qualification and experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 yearsu2019 experience in a similar function, credit or audit with large regional or global financial institutions.
  • Suitably educated, preferably with a bacheloru2019s degree in commerce/finance. Professional degrees are an added advantage.
  • Ability to solve problems and escalate to higher levels (as appropriate) and get along with people amicably.
  • Good understanding of wholesale banking products.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of credit, AML and operations management.
  • Fair working knowledge of loan documentation, syndication loan structures, commercial contracts, trade finance, credit risk, KYC and banking terminology including standard loan covenants.
  • Good background in performing credit analysis of financial institutions and non-financial institutions.
  • Solid computer skills with capability to use spreadsheets, graphic and presentation packages to review and create professional materials.
