Associate - Utilities

About Utilities

Mubadala's Utilities business unit is helping to establish a network of utilities businesses that offer sustainable, energy efficient and innovative solutions to government, commercial, residential and private organizations in the UAE and the broader region

Key Responsibilities

- Performs country analysis and identifies potential investment risks in addition to providing overall analysis and recommendations (e.g., sector governance analysis, political and economical overview)
- Conducts sector assessments to identify potential targets for new business opportunities in the identified geographies and develop recommendations/required business cases ( e.g., business rational , commercial and technical feasibility , risks and mitigants )
- Actively engages with local and international suppliers and technology providers to identify the optimal solutions for the targeted support opportunities, and study their technical feasibility
- Robust financial modelling skills and ability to conduct detailed commercial feasibility of various identified potential solutions
- Formulates findings and prepares presentations/letters to leadership in both English and Arabic formats
- Actively participate in team discussions, coordinate efforts with internal and external parties including government representatives
- Participates in the project execution process including commercial negotiations and execution of legal agreements (e.g., MOUs, JDAs)
- Provides coaching and support junior analysts on the team
- Support/lead key initiatives launched by the unit as required (e.g ., developing central knowledge base, tools, office events, etc)

Knowledge, skills and experience

- Preferred background: Engineering/Finance
- Power/Water sector knowledge with technical know-how
- Solid analytical, financial, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong track record in working with teams and driving impact
