JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Our Multi National Architectural & Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for well experienced consultant Senior Associate Technical Architect to join and lead their team in Dubai on high profile projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Associate Technical Architect for large scale mixed use, commercial, hospitality and residential projects in the GCC and have worked for recognised PMC or Design Consultants previously.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organizes own and others work to achieve set deadlines
• Responsible for the completeness & accuracy of own work.
• Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by the assigned team
• Prepares and /or reviews BIM models and drawings and co-ordinates using Navisworks and other coordination software Adopts creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documentation to support these solutions
• Develops specific, standardized procedures to achieve project requirements and deadlines
• Proactively checks and coordinates project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) and ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards
• Manages accuracy and quality of discipline BIM model information, presentation, and coordination
• Takes accountability for own and subordinates work
• Collaborates/communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common design tasks
• Regularly reviews and checks team deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness ensuring delivery is as per Client requirements and Industry standards
• Manages Team and other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common design & BIM model development tasks
• Communicates with clarity, purpose and accuracy
• Determines solutions, methods and procedures on assignments to deliver products & services
• Provides guidance to junior staff
• Prepares designs, sketches, diagrams, reviews and edits specifications
• Manages coordination of design using Navisworks and other coordination software
• Participates in pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high-quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry standards
• Manages the preparation and compilation of design presentations and reports
• Leads team meetings and brings ideas and solutions to the table
• Developed knowledge of clients QMS procedures Plans for and applies Safety in Design principles throughout all design stages of a project
• Manages preparation of and checks material schedules and sample boards
• Manages preparation of discipline drawings for submission to the Statutory Authorities.
• Attends / Leads client meetings
• Confidently present work to colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support to site supervision teams and resolve design related issues on site
• Coordinate and develop responses to 3rd Party review comments, tender queries, contractor's queries, etc.
• Responsible for making technical decisions regarding resolution of clashes between disciplines
• Contribute, from the onset of a project, to the design of innovative and progressive design solutions that reconcile client's goals and priorities while fostering opportunities for design excellence
• To perform and/or direct material and building system research and participate in the co-ordination and preparation of relevant specifications Efficiency in Design Apply and reinforce standard designs and products across work programmes
• Rigorously challenge the teams to drive efficiency in our clients design programmes
• Coordinate efficient outsourcing / offshoring (GDC etc.) of workload
• Managerial Responsibilities Planning and monitoring others work to achieve set deadlines
• Mentoring junior team members Coordinates and lead the assigned team of Architects and Technicians on a day to day basis and ensure that design excellence is achieved throughout Leads design work on projects of medium to large scales ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are implemented and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget fee
• Leads design team meetings to ensure all team members are participating and providing feedback.
• Motivates them and facilitates them to bring ideas and solutions to the table
• Manages architectural resource planning for the project and reporting project needs to senior team members
• Routinely interacts with clients, contractors, local authority representatives and others using skills of persuasion and negotiation to resolve critical issues
• Promotes teamwork within architectural and multi-disciplinary teams (including the GDC), maintaining positive moral and instilling a creative culture within the team
• Manage interface between design team / site supervision team ensuring proper design support is provided in a timely manner
• Support junior staff in activities to develop their technical excellence
• Ensures the quality of technical work produced by team meets
• Client requirements and Industry standards
• Ensures, directly and through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and meet all requirements of the Design Brief
• Make appropriate value judgements with respect to strategic work that supports the design concept and performance goals of the project
• Take initiatives to develop design manuals, standard design documents, presentations, etc. to increase efficiencies, knowledge and awareness across the architectural practice
Requirements:
Senior Associate Technical Architect Experience:• Minimum BSc Degree in Architecture or related
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience and at least 3 in a recognised International Consultancy
• Managing and developing projects from concept stages to tender, client facing, scheduling and coordination with design teams and other disciplines,
• Experienced in managing multiple projects to time and budget,
• Ability to work as part of a team
• An all-rounder with a key interest in having hands-on problem-solving approach.
• Excellent Revit, Auto Cad, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and MS Office skills
Salary:
AED
38,000 to 45,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
