JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
• Follow the major responsibilities like Practice good seamanship, keep a proper lookout, maintain a safe speed, Give-way vessel, Stand-on vessel while driving boat.
• Safety of the vessel and all persons on board, Safe transport of the vessel to and from the launch site, safe operation of all equipment, ensuring that all required operational and safety equipment is on board and that crew and passengers know the location and how to operate safety/survival equipment
• Operating a boat’s controls and gauges during trips to monitor the vessel’s performance
• Preparing for trips by performing routine maintenance on the craft’s engine and fuel system
• Reporting any accidents or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities
• Calculating fuel consumption rates to estimate fuel costs, and keeping track of fuel levels at all times
• Operating a vessel safely and efficiently by monitoring gauges and adjusting controls to maintain speed or establish course bearings
• Communicating with other vessels or marine staff via radio or other means to exchange information about weather conditions, hazards, or other navigational concerns
• Following government regulations regarding matters such as boating speed limits and the use of life jackets
• Operating a vessel in accordance with its manufacturer’s specifications, including knowledge of its weight capacity, maximum speed, and engine capacity limits
• Maintaining communication with dispatch or other staff members throughout a trip to report status and receive instructions
Requirements:
• High School Certificate• Boat Driving License
• Valid STCW
• Valid FTA – 12 Mtr
Boat operators are responsible for the safe operation of water boats. They commonly work on boats that carry divers, diving equipment and necessary associated items, but they may also be called upon to assist with other tasks such as docking and fueling.
Boat driving is a physically demanding job that requires constant attention to detail. Drivers must know how to operate their boat safely in all types of weather conditions while paying close attention to any hazards that might be present in the area.
