CAD Engineer (Modeler)

Job description

As a 3D modeler you make a difference by transforming your passion for infrastructure and dredging projects into high-quality 3D models and detailed but pragmatically made 3D designs, continuously growing and taking on challenges in your field in order to contribute valuable insights to projects within Boskalis.

You find it important to continue developing yourself and to keep challenging yourself in your field so that you can make a valuable contribution to projects. You understand that project-based work requires a balance between speed and accuracy; what you model will be constructed outside very soon.

As a 3D modeler you work in the Hydrodynamic engineering department. Hydrodynamic has a team of around 80 people in different design disciplines working from the main office in Papendrecht on projects and working from our new offices in Abu Dhabi. Hydrodynamic is responsible for the construction designs in tenders and acquired projects within the Dredging division of Boskalis, often with an integral and multidisciplinary character.

We have an opportunity within the same team for senior, medior, and junior levels.

Your responsibilities as a CAD engineer (modeler)

• Develop 3D designs, review 3D models, and create models using software and other tools, methods, and techniques.
• Coordinate these models to optimally facilitate the implementation of the geometrical designs.
• Review drawing specifications and reference designs and gather all necessary information.
• Determine what needs to be modeled in each construction phase.
• Identify interfaces, risks, and opportunities in the project model and assist with coordination.
• Advise and support design and project teams on technical aspects and inquiries.
• Create animations to provide insight into processes and constructions.

We will guide and coach you to work in our development toolchain and the Boskalis business for you to quickly adapt.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as a CAD engineer (modeler) if you have:

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Survey, or similar, with a level of working and thinking appropriate to the role.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience.
• Knowledge of modeling software Civil 3D in combination with SubAssembly Composer and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of CAD and BIM standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Proficiency in the English language.

• Your team: You will be part of the Hydrodynamic team of around 80 people in different design disciplines.
• Full/part-time job: The function of a CAD engineer (modeler) is a full-time position.
