JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Estimator/Quantity Surveyor (QS) to lead our estimating department and oversee the financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects.
- The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cost estimation, project financial management, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget.
- This is a leadership role that requires strategic oversight and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Manage and oversee the entire tendering process, including bid submissions.
• Conduct cost analysis and risk assessment for ongoing projects.
• Ensure that all financial aspects of the projects comply with legal and company requirements.
• Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring all financial objectives are met.
• Collaborate with project managers and site teams to provide accurate cost updates and forecasts.
• Lead a team of junior estimators and QS professionals, providing guidance and ensuring the team meets performance targets.
• Prepare regular financial reports and present cost evaluations to senior management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, including a manager or supervisory position.
• Proven expertise in cost estimation and contract management.
• Strong understanding of local UAE construction regulations and tendering processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in project management and estimating software.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Salary:
AED
12,000 to 15,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
