JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Chief Operating Officer - Livestock, oversees efficient operations of diverse portfolios of Cattle and Dairy farms across multiple locations. Responsible for strategic planning, execution, and optimization of all livestock activities to ensure efficiency, profitability, and industry standards adherence.

Responsibilities:

* Strategic Planning: Develop and execute growth plans, identify expansion opportunities, and streamline operations.
* Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, implement procedures, and optimize logistics.
* Financial Management: Develop budgets, analyze performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Livestock Health and Welfare: Develop health strategies, maintain standards, and implement preventive programs.
* Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain quality standards.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate teams, provide training, and ensure policy adherence.
* Stakeholder Relations: Collaborate with stakeholders and maintain a reputable image.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, and develop contingency plans.

Key Performance Indicators:

* Livestock Yield and Productivity: Increase in yield, improvement in productivity metrics, and achievement of production targets.
* Operational Efficiency: Reduction in costs while maintaining or improving efficiency.
* Financial Performance: Achievement of financial targets and ROI for capital expenditures.
* Compliance and Quality: High scores in compliance audits and maintenance of quality standards.
* Employee Engagement and Retention: Improvement in employee satisfaction and reduction in turnover.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Administration, or related field.
* 15+ years of senior management experience in livestock or agricultural industry.
* Strong knowledge of livestock operations and compliance standards.
* Proven track record in managing and growing livestock businesses.
* Excellent leadership, financial acumen, analytical, and communication skills.
