JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Charterhouse is working with a Healthcare/Biotech start-up, that is looking to hire a Chief Software Officer to join the growing global engineering team. This role offers the flexibility to work onsite in the UAE or remotely from Europe.
The Chief Software Officer reports directly to the CEO and will have a big impact on the future of this company. This role will play a crucial part within the Healthcare/Biotech start-up, helping grow the engineering teams as well as developing new and existing products, and working closely with the stakeholders.
In addition, this role will be responsible for creating the strategic road maps for all new and existing products. The Chief Software Officer will lead and manage the software development team and be the bridge between them and the bioinformatics division.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have at least 10+ years’ experience working as a Software Engineer with at least 5 years of leadership experience. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field and should have a good understanding of the bioinformatics process and software development methodologies e.g., Agile, Scrum, etc.Experience in the following areas will be beneficial for this role: AI, Bioinformatics, DevOps, Cloud Computing, Healthcare.
The ideal candidate should be a problem solver and an innovative thinker who can lead and motivate teams. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are crucial, enabling effective collaboration with multiple teams across the business.
