Civil Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

To carry out organizational and administrative tasks for projects, ensuring that the Client’s needs are achieved or bettered with respect to the supply and installation of materials and labour, under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Key-result areas:
• To develop and maintain effective systems for controlling Project information.
• To ensure good and regular communications with the Customer and internal customers.
• Ensure that the quality of work provided is to the required standards.
• Be able to make decisions in the absence of the Project Manager, if necessary in consultation with other Managers.
• Plan and organize schedules for the various Projects ongoing.
• Ensure that Health and Safety standards are complied with.
• Maintain compliance with the Company procedures and Quality requirements both in the office and on-site.
• Monitor progress and costs involved in ongoing projects.

Special features:
• To ensure that control over all relevant information and documentation is maintained by means of electronic and paper filing and organization, such that it is always readily accessible.
• To devise and create new methods of controlling the above, as may be necessary.
• Should be able to take control of a Project, in the absence of the Project Manager, with minimal input from Senior Management.

REQUIREMENTS

Core Competencies:
• Good knowledge of the use of spreadsheets and the ability to manage information electronically.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings. Added advantage ability to use any monitoring, quantifying, and scheduling tools.
• Be able to think of solutions to achieve the Customer’s needs based upon the requirements known and the resource available.

Academic Qualifications/Accreditations:
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
• Abu Dhabi Municipality Accreditation (License Holder).

Experience:
• 5-10 years experience within a project management environment.
