Civil Formwork Foreman

Description

The formwork foreman will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the formwork crew, ensuring the accurate construction and installation of formwork systems for various concrete structures. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of different formwork methods and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Plan and execute the formwork, shuttering, scaffolding, and de-shuttering work as per the approved drawing and get approval from third party consultant as per the specification. Coordinate construction work according to priorities and plans with the subcontractors.
• Prepare micro plans and schedules to achieve the targets.
• Plan and allocate general and daily responsibilities to the subcontractor and subordinates.
• Monitor, supervise, and ensure effective and economical utilization of machinery, equipment, manpower, and resources.
• Provide material and resource requirements in advance to ensure smooth progress.
• Ensure all formwork and shuttering works are completed within schedule and as per quality standards.
• Ensure proper stripping, cleaning, and storage of formwork materials after use.
• Coordinate with steel fixing, concreting, and other related teams to avoid delays.
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
• Monitor wastages and ensure they remain within tolerance.
• Resolve problems when they arise or report to engineer in charge.
• Report the daily progress to engineer in charge.
• Technical knowledge of modern formwork systems.
• Manpower and material management.
• Quality and safety awareness.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Requirements

Qualification: Diploma preferred, minimum 12th pass or grade 12.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 to 10 years UAE experience in buildings (midrise and highrise).
• Minimum should have executed and completed 2 to 3 residential building (midrise and highrise) projects from start to handing over.
• Attested certificates if undergone any specialized formwork system training.
• Report to site engineer or construction manager and coordinate with surveyors and site team (civil, MEP, suppliers, and subcontractors).
