The Job Opportunity
Serco is currently looking for a Civil Technical Assistant to join our Facilities Management team. The purpose of the role is to ensure satisfactory completion of minor planned and reactive maintenance work across several civil disciplines contained in and around the contract.
Key accountabilities
• Support the duties of the planned and reactive maintenance schedule both internally and externally to the property across several disciplines, not limited to; Carpentry, Masonry, Painting and minor Plumbing services Identify and assist with the requisition of materials to ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out efficiently and to approved standards.
• Assist with various and types of MEP work as required.
• Integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing) as required.
• Ensure that a clean and tidy working environment is maintained at all time by controlling tools, materials and waste products.
REQUIREMENTS

• Have a competent command of both spoken and written English
• Able to foster good relations with colleagues and other departments and be a good team player.
• Flexibility, excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues.
• Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment.
Specific requirements
• Must hold relevant and recognized qualification in any of the civil discipline, or equivalent.
• Proficient and able to demonstrate a complete understanding of general maintenance services.
• Technically competent with a clear understanding of building fabric and finishes, associated tools and equipment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a building services and/or facilities management environment.
