Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Commercial Lead for Iraq Operations with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to be based in Dubai, UAE

Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) whilst opportunities are being fully determined.
- Ensure effective commercial management of a long term EPCm framework contract in accordance with all relevant Wood commercial policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all framework pre-contract commercial matters, including call off tender preparation and approvals in accordance with Wood policies and procedures are effectively managed.
- Ensure effective post-contract commercial management of contracts and that all Wood commercial entitlements are pursued
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment and demonstrate correct HSSE behaviours and leadership.
- Management of all Wood commercial aspects under the framework.
- Ensure that necessary advice received in connection with tender preparation, including tax advice, insurance advice, contractual advice and treasury advice.
- Ensure effective handover of pre-contract framework commercial matters to post-contract execution phase of projects.
- Ensure that projects are appropriately resourced from a commercial / supply chain / project controls perspective.
- Ensure that appropriate training and development provided for personnel in the Commercial department
- Ensure that projects operate in accordance with Wood commercial policies and procedures
- Ensure that project invoicing carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that cash position maximised
- Ensure that end life forecasting and cost/value reporting (CVR) on projects are undertaken in accordance with Wood policies and procedures and that the appropriate values are reflected in the management accounts.
- Ensure that early warnings, compensation events, contract amendment requests and claims are submitted in accordance with framework contract requirements
- Ensure that final accounts are agreed and contracts closed out in accordance with framework contract requirements.
- Ensure that sub-contracts are placed and managed in accordance with relevant Wood policies and procedures and in a manner which optimises Wood's commercial position and complies with all relevant requirements of the Contract
- Ensure that necessary processes in place for cost reporting to Clients
- Ensure that KPI schemes properly administered in accordance with contract terms and conditions
- Ensure that revised contract rates and prices developed as appropriate
- Ensure that necessary processes in place for the control of expenditure
- Ensure that processes in place for pursuing invoice payments
- Liaison with insurance department regarding insurance claims
- Ensure that appropriate risk management techniques applied during pre and post contract phases of projects
- Ensure that payment/political risk insurance cover taken out as required by Wood policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

Skills / Qualifications
- Completion of an bachelors degree in business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline
- 15 years' experience in a similar leadership/management role
- Experience in Proposals required
- Experience in negotiation, claims & dispute resolution
- Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation
- Competent in change management
- Iraq experience preferred but not essential
- Quantity Surveying experience would be beneficial but not essential
