JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Purpose:
Prepare all ingredients and basic mise-en-place and assist the chefs in various section of kitchen as instructed by supervisor in preparing all the dishes related to the restaurant outlet.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Support the Demi Chef and Commis in the daily operation and work
• Work according to the instructions of Superiors
• Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the hotel
• Control food stock and food cost
• Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections
• Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
• Perform any general duties as defined by the supervisor and help in any other department or section in the kitchen
• Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation
• Collect deliveries and check that all the inter kitchen transfers correspond to the requirements
• Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control.
Requirements:
Essential:• A total of 2-4 years culinary experience
• Knowledge of International Cuisines
• 1 year minimum in a similar role in a 5 * international environment
• High school Diploma
• Previous work experience in a similar position in a four- or five-star hotel or for a minimum of 1 year
• Good command in English
• Basic food hygiene knowledge is a must
Desirable:
• Able to work with speed and efficiency throughout maintaining positive attitude
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
