JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Objectives and Role Profile

• To be the main intermediary between the Corporate Marketing & Communications team and Kizad Business Unit, ensuring the requirements of the business unit are anticipated and provided for in a timely professional manner
• To develop and implement PR and communications programs for Abu Dhabi Ports and Kizad
• To develop proactive productive relationships with representatives of key media print, broadcast and online with the objective of maximizing positive coverage and effectively managing any issues if necessary
• To be focal point of the Corporate Marketing & Communications department with Kizad Business Unit, coordinating all requests and activities in all marketing and PR functions
• To take a lead role in the development and implementation of the communications plans for Corporate and Kizad
• To advise on best media outlet for different target audiences and key messages
• To manage an editorial timeline for the business unit, ensuring adequate planning to support activity where appropriate in coordination with other business units timelines
• To manage the approvals process between the PR/Corporate Communications team, VP Marketing and Communications and the business unit contacts
• To advise on media materials, to ensure they are in an appropriate (eg. good pictures/right size) and timely format
• To proactively look for opportunities and suggest opportunities to place stories about the business relevant to the key media and audiences
• To maintain a good knowledge of the media relevant to the business and maintain an updated database of key media representatives
• To perform any other related duties as assigned by his/her direct supervisor
• Align and supervise the execution of timely tasks being done by the media relations officer and media relations specialist
• Train the media relations officer and media relations specialist on the development of media monitoring system with continuous update
• To coordinate and align with other divisions/ business units on activities

• To maintain good relationships with key media
• To proactively build knowledge and be alert to opportunities, while being mindful of the resource available to deliver materials and current priorities for the team
• To build productive relationships with the internal customers, researching briefs for stories and being alert to potential news opportunities advising on media, and promoting professional high standards of
PR and communication
• Good knowledge of Kizad business, departments and project details
• Strong PR and corporate communication Skills
• Ability to manage PR agencies for optimal results
• Strong knowledge of social media and latest digital practices for business to business
• Strong project management skills
• Track record of developing effective successful PR and corporate communication programs
• Fluency in English and Arabic
• Innovative and creative
• Pro-active

Self-motivated
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic, both orally and in writing
• Must be culturally aware with a good understanding of corporate priorities, management strategies and business objectives
• Must be able to build productive working relationships and network of contacts in a multicultural Government organization, while understanding and being mindful of any sensitivities
• Ability to work under pressure
• Must act in a professional manner €“ be customer focused, confident, mature and proactive

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Experience/Competencies

• Degree in business administration, journalism, public relations, or communications studies
• 10+ years of experience, specifically public relations or communications
• Must be fluent in both Arabic and English
• PR Experience in a business to business environment and continuously updated with industry news would be preferred
• Work experience in a range of different settings majority to be media relations focused
• Good familiarity with UAE & International Media
• Commercial & cultural awareness
• Experience in Media interactions
