JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Chemist required for an international chemical manufacturing company based in Dubai on a single status basis for 3-6 months; work permits shall be provided.
You will be supporting field based trials of antiscalant and corrosion inhibitors applicable for power stations in the Middle East including:
• Regular testing of water samples; monitoring of water quality through onsite and laboratory water testing
• Supervise the chemical testing and analysis of samples of water and treated water
• Recommending the proper application of chemicals through regular monitoring of chemical dosing pumps and chemical tanks
• Ability to analyse complex operating data and to make changes accordingly
• Recommend technical mixture of chemical to provide efficiency improvements
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operating personnel
• Prepare reports of chemical and bacteriological analyses of water and review water evaluation reports, records, logs, and graphs to confirm adequacy of chemicals
REQUIREMENTS
• Chemical Engineering Graduate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of working with antiscalants and scale inhibitors and RO Desalination Technology
• Able to manage trials in power stations and in handling, calibration, maintenance and monitoring of test equipment
• Competencies required - maturity, self-starter and confident communicator – English essential, spoken & written.
• Flexible disposition essential to be based at client sites in different locations for 3-6 month periods
