JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Essential Duties:
- Monitor and analyze all costs related to food, beverages, supplies, and other operational expenses.
- Identify areas of cost overruns or inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare regular cost reports, including cost and inventory variance analysis and comparisons against budgeted targets.
- Provide accurate and timely financial data to management for informed decision-making.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to track and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize stock discrepancies.
- Coordinate with kitchen and procurement teams to optimize stock rotation and minimize wastage.
- Monitor wastage levels to find the reason and reduce the same.
- Recommend and implement measures to reduce food and beverage costs, such as portion control and recipe standardization and SOP’s.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate unnecessary expenses.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in cost control.
- Monitor pricing and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive rates and quality products.
- Track actual financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions.
- Provide input and financial insights into menu pricing decisions including menu Engineering and analysis.
- Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Collaborate with the operations team to analyze sales data and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Liaise with the procurement team to evaluate supplier contracts and negotiate favorable terms.
- Train and educate staff on cost control procedures and best practices.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:- Minimum experience of 5 years in the same field
- Thorough knowledge of Cost Accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of Food & Beverage operations and Cost Controlling in F&B Industry
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Hotel/Hospitality Management.
- Professional certification such as CMA/ICWA Preferred.
- Willingness to work in flexible schedules.
- Awareness of business trends.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with month-end/year-end closing process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
Salary:
AED
7,000 to 9,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
