JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

We currently have an opening for Cost Controller - Onshore Based to join our client.

Job Requirements - Tasks:

- Ensure adherence to legal and contractual accounting standards
- Participate in the implementation of reporting procedures and tools
- Take into account any accounting & reporting changes
- Application of operating agreements & other contracts
- Ensure good understanding of accounting & reporting requirements by managers

Activities:
Budget:

- Budget exercises and regular Closing Forecasts - Section Meetings, Consolidation/Presentation to CEO, SVP & Managers
- Collect commitments & expenditures outside commitments with cumulated actuals to date and forecast the final costs for Estimated final costs/ Closing Forecasts
- Contribute to preparation of the Long-Term Plan -5 years (LTP) and ensure consistency between LTP, the Budget and the medium-term operations schedule and consolidate and report
- To ensure that the budget is in line with operations work program
- To input Budget to upload budget on SAP to have proper reporting and control
- To ensure actual costs are in line with budget & alerts on potential budget forecasts overrun
- Detailed variance analysis prior to budget meeting
- To issue running cost report as and when required by Supervisor

Cost Control:

- Control, validate and amend when necessary, the accuracy of invoices - clearing Web Cycle invoices
- Participate on the weekly progress meeting reporting to Section Manager
- Prepare the month end accruals ensuring that actual costs in the accounts effectively correspond to the best monetary estimation of work done and/or value of goods delivered
- To prepare the year end accruals reversal when GR or SES is issued for prior year accruals & to check and reverse when needed year end accruals and avoid duplication of cost in a year
- To clear the cost centers before month end closure
- To liaise with centralized buyer before closing of the month to pass all service entry sheets in SAP
- To monitor the CAPEX accounts for any negative impact assisting to run depreciation smoothly
- To cover during absence meet other cost controller's duties
- To issue new Requests For Services from Headquarters (RFS) and assist in approval for them
- To monitor the outstanding commitments and clear all pending items & ensure the Delivery Completed status for job completed - Report cleaning
- To prepare in line with operations work program phasing for the budget once the Initial budget is finalized
- To assist in preparing ADHOC reporting to the management when necessary
- To issue UCDS- UNISUP Contract Data Sheet - to monitor cost are identified properly and contribute to the respect of contractual payment deadlines for invoices (Input of contract elements in the MIS) & to check and validate if the UCDS are assigned to proper service master and cost element for each contract
- To issue Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) guide reporting on work in progress or completion to reflect the Assets to be delivered
- To monitor the costs and prepare a back up report for any insurance claim items
- To issue debit notes for cost reallocation between the different ventures of client.
- To ensure budgets are available before expenditure authorization and validate allocations and cost element (GL) - Procurement work flow - Release of PR/ CO
- Ensure that, at the end of month, actual in the accounts effectively correspond to the best monetary estimation of work done and/or value of goods delivered.

Monthly Closing and Reporting:

- To assist in preparing final report to HQ for Budget
- To prepare budget variance comments in issuing Budget booklet
- To comment on the variances in the Mastersheet for each budget
- To issue monthly BW cost report with actual costs and commitments to Department Managers in line with Finance Métier
- To maintain Requests For Services from HQ (RFS) file for each budget to track the costs for reporting RFS dedicated budget
- To maintain ADNOC Khuff assets reporting and actual costs on the JV
- To check monthly KPI / Year To Date report and amend when needed the explanations of the variance between and actual and budget phasing
- GR/IR clearing of outstanding invoices checking in respective departments

REQUIREMENTS

Education :

- Diploma in Finance or Higher degree with 10 years or more experience in the field of Cost accounting, financial accounting and fiscal domains preferably in the oil industry.
- An understanding of Exploration-Production specific Cost accounting and reporting norms
- Good command of English language. Conversant with quasi-legal correspondence.

Duties:

- Following instructions given by managers and supervisory personnel
- Assuring himself of the safety of his work site before commencing work
- Taking the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger
- Exercising such caution as is necessary to avoid danger to persons and installations or to avoid pollution
- Using tools, equipment and their safeguards correctly
- Using the provided means of personal protection correctly
- Leaving the workplace behind correct and orderly upon job/shift completion
- Reporting any anomaly, abnormal conditions and near miss to his supervisor
- Participating actively in HSE meetings, safety talks, tool boxes, training sessions and drills
- Cooperating actively in the execution of the HSE plans.
