JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
For one of my Fashion Clients, looking for a "Creative Pattern Cutter" and Grader with a strong understanding of most product areas and garment types. Strong understanding of the changing body type to be able to adapt to each customers needs. Minimum 5 years of Experience.
Require excellent technical ability and knowledge within Pattern making , draping and grading (both manually and on Lectra Expert/ModPro)
Highly accurate with a great eye for securing best fit quickly and effectively.
Solid knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing with attention to detail.
Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and ability to recognize and react to changing work demands .
A good retail background with commercial awareness.
Creative Pattern Maker / Grader
• Creating Creative Graded Patterns and Specifications from Initial Designers Sketch.
• Creating garment specifications including graded measurement charts from initial designers sketch.
• Product briefings to ensure a more accurate 1st fit.
• Making of toile's and paper patterns
• Sample cutting.
• Aiding in the development of PO technicians skills and knowledge of fitting and grading through face to face, email and phone contact as well as presentations.
• Improving fit and grading on running styles helping to increase sales.
• Securing Best Fit/Product in all sizes.
• Solving any issues regarding Fit, Quality and Construction
• Implementing a new daily work tracker to help manage work load.
• Communicating clearly and precisely with Production offices (China, India,& UAE) regarding Fit and Quality Issues.
• Compiling fit lists
• Answer factory queries regarding fits.
• Measuring of garments to spec
• Maintaining a high level of make and fit under pressure.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills Should be proficient in technical flats (hand sketches and Illustrator), pattern making, pattern grading, garment construction, alteration and finishing, establishing measurements & specifications
Language skills: Fluent in English
Computer Skills: Lectra, Kaledo, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Internet functions.
Specialties: Women's Wear / Creative pattern making. Knowledge of jackets is an added advantage.
