JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Design Manager - Retail Footwear Brand - Dubai
The Design manager will be responsible for creating the design strategy for the ladies buying department on behalf of a leading footwear company. Leads and manages the design process in a collaborative work environment translating design briefs and knowledge of market trends into innovative, commercial designs. Develops and implements design themes and concepts that capture new markets and increases consumer demand.
Key Accountabilities:
• Knowledge in current trends and the ability to interpret trends.
• Experience analyzing and communicating with suppliers for trend and design interpretation
• Strong project management and organizational skills, ability to lead and multi-task in a fast paced environment, deadline and process driven, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Lead and mentor designers through clear and consistent coaching and development.
• Build and support a collaborative and innovative culture for direct reports and peers.
• Critical path management; Liaise with Product Operations, Product Development, and category product teams throughout product creation lifecycle
• People Management
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5 years experience in similar role and industry
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator CS, Adobe Photoshop
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Communication skills
• Flexibility and creativity
• Analytical skills and time management
• Teamwork
