JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a Middle Eastern provider of EPC services for Control, Instrumentation and Automation systems for the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors.

They are looking for an experienced Draughtsman to act as the Drawing Office Manager for their projects across the GCC region.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the Drawing Office Department employees by assigning the tasks with a definite timeline and quality standard.
- Design control system panel for use in hazardous and non-hazardous area
- Coordinate with the Workshop Manager on the panel assembly.
- Provide support in component selection, checking details, assemblies, and BOMs.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Team to ensure that design of control panel and construction drawings will meet technical specifications, engineering design standards and performance requirements.
- Provide support in estimating cable, cable trays, and other requirement for construction based on plant layout and optimum routing.
- Supervise the preparation of control drawings, i.e., loop diagrams, power distribution, wiring diagrams, junction box termination, interconnection diagrams, general arrangement drawings, system architecture drawings, etc.
- Comment on engineering drawings and construction drawings from other company specialists within required time.

REQUIREMENTS

- Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
- At least 8 years drafting experience in Instrumentation/Electrical/Control stream.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience as a Senior Drawing Office Engineer/ E& I Draftsman.
- Formal training and in-depth experience in AutoCAD, INtools, and Aveva.
- Must have proven experience in leading a team of Design Draughtsmen in generating E&I drawings as well as system drawings for at least 2 major projects.
- Familiar with various international codes and standards.
- Knowledgeable in hazardous area classifications.
- Knowledgeable on control systems like DCS, PLC, and SCADA.
- Experienced in panel design including its layouts, general arrangement, interwiring, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Capable of producing and checking various drawing deliverables with high levels of accuracy.
