JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
To carry out dockings of Company’s specialized vessels including planning, specification compilation, procurement, liaison with shipyards, surveyors service engineers and Company Operations personnel.
- Ensure that all vessels built or purchased are fit for purpose, evaluate and report.
- Provide technical assistance to commercial function for the purchasing or sale of vessels, preparation of tenders and other documents.
- Develop and implement Divisional Technical Policies and procedures that will ensure that all vessels conform to high common standards of technical integrity.
- Ensure full compliance of all new purchased vessels with statutory, regulatory, flag state bodies, customers and operational needs.
- Undertake technical projects and provide technical input into other projects as required by operational and commercial functions.
- Produce accurate and timely reconciliation of capital expenditure projects.
- Provide effective and timely technical guidance and support as required.
• The job holder is responsible to ensure that all vessels built and purchased meet statutory, flag, class, registration, customers and operational needs.
• On completion of initial and financial tendering, take leadership and full responsibility for ship building programs.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Class 1 Motor or engineering / naval architecture degree
Minimum Experience:
Min 3 years sea experience as chief engineer of offshore support vessels. Min 3 years of shore experience as Engineering/ projects or dry docking superintendent.
• Supervised projects to include major conversions or new building of offshore vessels
• Drawing approval experience
• Intimate knowledge of major Class Societies requirements
• Dry dock and Planned Maintenance System experience
• Experience of outfitting offshore vessels
• Operational experience of offshore support vessels Operational experience of offshore support vessels
Job-Specific Skills:
• Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word , PowerPoint)
• Has knowledge / experience of Dynamic Positioning
• Installation of dive systems aboard offshore support vessels
• Technical Report Writing
• Dealt with multinational shipyards and sea staff
• Intimate knowledge of major Class Societies requirements
Generic Skills:
• Excellent English communicating and strong analytical skills.
