Job overview
As an electrical design engineer for fire fighting trucks & vehicles, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components tailored to meet the requirements of our fire fighting vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the electrical systems are safe, efficient, and integrated seamlessly into the vehicle designs.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems, wiring harnesses, control panels, and power distribution systems for fire fighting trucks and emergency vehicles.
Specify and select electrical components (e.g., motors, switches, controllers, sensors) ensuring they meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
Create detailed circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, and schematics for vehicle electrical systems.
Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems with other vehicle subsystems. Perform testing and validation of electrical designs to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards.
Provide technical support for manufacturing, assembly, and field operations, helping troubleshoot electrical issues during production and in-service vehicles.
Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, design specifications, test reports, and other necessary reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for process improvements, cost reductions, and innovations in vehicle electrical systems.
Desired candidate profile
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. Master's degree or additional certifications in relevant areas is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the automotive, military, or specialized vehicle sectors (fire fighting vehicles is highly desirable).
