Electrical Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise electrical work: Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in ship repair and shipbuilding projects.

Technical compliance: Ensure electrical systems meet design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.

Testing & commissioning: Conduct functional testing of electrical systems including generators, switchboards, motors, and control panels.

Problem-solving: Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical circuits, control systems, and power distribution networks.

Resource management: Manage manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.

Project coordination: Work closely with the project engineer, production teams, and other departments to meet project timelines.

Safety enforcement: Implement safety measures, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

Documentation & reporting: Maintain detailed records of electrical work, inspection reports, and material usage for project documentation.

Process improvement: Identify areas for efficiency enhancement in electrical installations and maintenance activities.

Requirements

Electrical engineer with 8-10 years of shipbuilding / ship repair experience. Diploma holders with good experience may be considered. GCC experience or inside UAE preferred. UAE driving licence required.
