Responsibilities:

Carry out safe isolation and de-isolation of all electrical equipment including high voltage (HV) systems.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment (including medium and low voltage) such as:

  • Transformers
  • Motors
  • Generators
  • Medium and low voltage variable frequency drives
  • Medium and low voltage soft starters
  • Control panels
  • Cables
  • Earthing systems
  • Lighting distribution systems
  • Power distribution systems including modern microprocessor-based protection relays and associated switchgears in the plant
  • Integrated protection and control systems
  • Electrical heat tracing / skin effect heat tracing systems
  • Process electrical heaters
  • Electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes
  • Batteries and UPS systems
  • Motor operated valves
  • Annunciator systems
  • Cathodic protection systems
  • Lubrication / greasing of motor bearings
  • Medium voltage capacitor banks
  • Receive work assignments from supervisor with comments on required work, examine faulty equipment to determine scope and requirements, obtain necessary tools and spares, then proceed to worksite to perform job.
    Carry out skilled electrical fault finding, diagnosis, and defect repair; operate electrical equipment such as transformers, high voltage and low voltage switchgear, motors, motor operated valves, lighting, and UPS systems.
    Familiarize with hazardous classified equipment and related maintenance procedures.
    Perform routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance checks of electrical systems and associated equipment as per standard procedures and checklists, including checking and cleaning various electrical equipment and identifying malfunctions.
    Conduct regular routine inspection of all equipment in the assigned area; carry out maintenance and repair work including stripping, cleaning, checking, and recalibrating electrical equipment as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications:

  • Diploma in electrical engineering
  • Six years of experience in installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of electrical equipment, preferably in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry
  • Fair knowledge of English
  • Experience with maintenance software such as SAP
