JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Carries out a variety of routine maintenance, inspections, repair and supervision of Electronic / Electrical and electromechanical equipment and air-conditioning and refrigeration systems on board the vessels. The must have the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work in varying condition.
Operational Activities
• Perform Maintenance, Troubleshooting and repair off all Electronic-Electrical and computer based equipment. Skill- Level requirements vary from troubleshooting to board or component level repair.
• Perform routine maintenance, and take responsibility for the care and cleanliness of the vessel Electronic-Electrical equipment and air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electro Technical Officers ‘ETO’ receives intensive Training in Troubleshooting, Technical procedure and safety.
• Responsible for monitoring all Electronics and Electrical equipment on board to maximize the operational safety and efficiency of the vessel.
• Performance of all works in accordance with the safe work practices, policies and procedures.
• Supervise and participate in the installation and alteration of Electrical/Electronic equipment on board including follow- up of all services carried out by contractors.
• Familiarizing himself with details of emergency stations and procedures.
• Maintaining high standard of housekeeping in area of work.
• Using appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing.
• Undertake other assignments as deemed appropriate by the Master, Chief Engineer on board or by the division’s management.
Requirements:
Experience:• Around 3 years’ experience in Marine Electronic/Electrical systems is preferred.
Qualifications:
• Medical fitness Certificate
• Graduate in Bachelor of Science in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License for Filipino Applicants.
• For other nationalities Certificate/Diploma of completion of Electronic or Electrical Engineering courses.
• Electro Technical Officers Certificate of Competency (CoC)
• With Kongsberg K-Pos DP Dynamic Positioning Maintenance Course Training Certificate.
• Preferably Kongsberg DP Generation no.6 K-Pos DP21 Standalone experience.
• Survival Training in accordance with STCW Reg. V1/2
• Medical First Aid - in accordance with STCW code Section A-V1/4 (table A-V1/4-1 to 3)
• DP maintenance experience as a certificated DP maintainer
• Completion of Secondary Educations ( 12 years) As per training matrix
