JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Overview of the role:
Responsible for developing, tracking and guiding the most appropriate method and sequence of MEP activities in conjunction with the contract requirements and main contract programme in order to ensure the project is completed timely and on budget.
What you will do:
- Contract baseline programme.
- Creating the project plan schedule according to the project baseline.
- Developing and obtaining approval of MEP/Main Contract Baseline Programme.
- Monitoring progress - Engineering
- Preparing engineering registers in line with the baseline programme requirements.
- Monitoring progress of submissions and highlighting variance (if any) to the project team.
- Providing look-ahead to the engineering team.
- Monitoring progress - Procurement
- Preparing procurement register in line with baseline programme requirements.
- Monitoring progress of procurement and highlighting variance (if any) to the project team.
- Providing look-ahead to the project team.
- Ensure selected vendors are in compliance with the project delivery requirements.
- Identify specialist subcontractor requirements, monitor and ensure selection in a timely manner.
- Liaise with specialist suppliers for delivery requirements.
- Monitoring and reporting progress
- Monitoring work progress and highlighting variance (if any) to the project team.
- Updating the baseline schedule.
- Prepare progress reports in accordance with the project requirements.
- Providing look-ahead to the project team.
- Organize weekly meetings with the project team and specialist subcontractors.
- Attend progress meetings with the client and main contractor.
- Resource mobilization forecasting and productivity measures
- Identifying manpower requirements in line with the project progress and programme requirements.
- Monitoring and tracking labor productivity.
- Highlighting manpower requirement or productivity concerns (if any) to the site management.
- Testing and commissioning schedule
- Identifying the logic and sequence of commissioning.
- Developing detailed testing and commissioning schedules in line with the baseline programme.
- Delay notifications, delay analysis and extension of time submissions
- Identifying variations that impact the programme.
- Identifying delay events (if any) that impact the programme.
- Notifying the delays in accordance with the contract conditions.
- Preparing delay analysis impact programmes for the delay events.
- Preparation of extension of time submissions.
Required skills to be successful:
Job-specific skills:
- Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Primavera (P6-V6) and MS Project.
- Knowledge of contracts (FIDIC).
- Excellent communication and letter writing skills.
- Interpersonal skills, ethical values and commitment to continual improvement.
- Preferable to have experience with SAP.

Minimum qualifications, certification and knowledge:
- BE/BTech – Mechanical/Electrical.
- Primavera (P6).
Minimum experience:
- 8-10 years of experience in planning of MEP projects.
