JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
Plans and Provide crane and lifting equipment maintenance and operation. Coordinates with Crane Management Contractor to ensure all operations and maintenance meet company requirements with regard to availability and reliability, whilst fully complying with all Company HSE Regulations, Standards and Procedures

Key Accountabilities:

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Acts as the Technical Authority for Maintenance and Operation of Lifting Equipment. Supports various divisions on technical and operational issues/procurement of new cranes.
- When required, co-ordinate and support OSD/site team for the preparation of the planned LOP before execution of the lifting activities at site.
- Plans, co-ordinates and supervises maintenance, repairs and major overhauls performed on all cranes and lifting equipment inclusive of Pedestal Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Lifeboat Life raft Davits and Screen Winches.
- Manages and coordinates the performance of the Crane Management Contract including preparation of scopes of work, estimates, technical evaluation of bids and execution of services.
- Monitors pedestal crane and overhead cranes operation and maintenance data, including lab analysis and condition monitoring trends. Prepares recommendations and ensures implementation in maintenance strategy as necessary to improve performance.
- Examines and inspects the cranes and advises on course of corrective action as necessary, carries out maintenance audits on lifting equipment, reviews and updates crane and lifting equipment maintenance programmes as required.
- Carries out Inspection / Audit of all contractors (Barge cranes & topside maintenance cranes & lifting equipment), this occurs prior to equipment mobilization.
- Carries out feasibility studies in the following areas, evaluation of new safety procedures, evaluation of hydraulic system upgrades and component replacement procedures.
- Liaises and co-ordinates with crane manufacturers for technical queries and advice. Provides necessary advice on spare parts queries, received from purchasing department/suppliers.
- Maintains and updates lifting equipment records. Produce comprehensive status reports on all equipment. Carries out technical evaluations of new cranes and lifting equipment to ensure that all operational and technical requirements are met.
- Reviews and updates spare parts holding to maintain correct level according to actual operational requirements. Prepares Scope of Work for the contracts & tenders of major maintenance overhauls, inspections, and repairs of Pedestal Cranes.
- Follows up and co-ordinates the implementation of overhauls inspections and repairs contracts related to Cranes, on site and at the contractor workshops.

- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section's / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Communications & Working Relationships:

Internal
- Regular contacts with site maintenance personnel and other Team Leaders and Managers in Abu Dhabi for operational requirements.
- Regular contacts with personnel in the Commercial Department, for the coordination of relating purchases and contacts with vendors and sub-contractors for technical advice and assistance.
- Regular contacts with Integrity Team to ensure equipment inspections and certification are performed and in place as required.
- Works according to Company's established policy, procedures, approved work programs and professional engineering standards.

External
- Weekly correspondence with Crane Operation and Maintenance Contractor.
- Regular correspondence with Project management Teams and / or NPCC.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 - 6 years of experience, in the field of mechanical maintenance and engineering services applicable directly to offshore pedestal cranes. Knowledge of maintenance strategies and analysis techniques. Knowledge of condition monitoring requirements for cranes and lifting devices and techniques. Knowledge of international design, maintenance, inspection and crane operations standards.
- Fluent in speaking and written English Language.
- Computer literate.
