Job description
- Maintain all electrical equipment and ensure all electrical control panels function accurately.
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all electrical panels, motors, electrical appliances, and related equipment.
- Distribute work to subordinates according to their capabilities to achieve the best results.
- Ensure that the work done by subordinates meets specified standards.
- Ensure that all related tools are stored safely and are in good working condition.
- Follow the preventive maintenance chart strictly and maintain records for future reference.
- Coordinate with other department counterparts to ensure their satisfaction with quality and progress, fostering healthy inter-department relationships.
- Create opportunities for engineering employees to multitask and enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain all kitchen and laundry equipment in good working order.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Maintain the performance of pumps and motors.
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to protect guests' and employees' health and safety, as well as conserve the environment.
- Comply with the hotel’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Allocate duties to appropriate engineering staff and contractors under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
- Possess knowledge of the hotel's Building Management System (BMS).
- Use an effective trouble reporting system.
- Manage master cards, keys, mobile devices, vacuum machines, and ladder sign-in/out procedures.
- Ensure the opening checklist is followed.
- Check master cards, keys, and mobile devices regularly.
- Take over responsibilities from the previous shift.
- Prepare work orders for staff.
- Conduct shift briefings.
- Conduct training sessions as per schedule.
- Monitor the BMS frequently.
- Follow RSM process flow and guidelines; check RSM dashboard and recovery status, responding immediately within 15 minutes.
- Perform regular rounds of plant room, boiler room, and chiller yard.
- Follow up on pending jobs.
- Check material stock and place orders as needed.
- Once Local Purchase Orders (LPO) are ready, follow up with suppliers and receive materials with proper documentation.
- Coordinate with other departments for any engineering-related work.
- Follow up on breakdown jobs.
- Inspect preventive maintenance work and ensure it is completed according to standards.
- Prioritize all guest-related work and complete jobs as soon as possible.
- Respond immediately to emergencies such as water flooding, fire alarms, gas alarms, and elevator entrapments.
- Manage all life and safety-related systems including fire systems, gas alarms, generator systems, and UPS.
- Carry out all Departmental Maintenance (DM) requirement work and update files daily.
- Report safety hazards to the respective outlet or department.
- Report any abuse of hotel property and utilities with proper incident reports to the respective leader.
- Update the monthly preventive maintenance file daily.
- Conduct monthly safety checks of facilities.
- Continuously monitor utilities.
- Conduct public area walkthroughs during every shift.
- Follow HACCP and Planet 21 processes daily.
- Perform guest room maintenance and inspections.
- Follow standard operating procedures when attending to guest room complaints.
- Maintain daily shift log book communication.
- Prepare meter reading reports.
- Conduct energy conservation checks.
- Manage function rooms in accordance with Banquet Event Orders and Event Shortlists.
- Follow preventive maintenance process flow and guidelines.
- Prepare incident and accident reports related to safety.
- Oversee workshop repair operations.
- Ensure compliance with general work permits for safety.
- Follow welding and cutting safety procedures.
- Adhere to hazardous work safety protocols.
- Maintain email inbox size below 1500 MB.
- Prepare annual performance reviews for all technicians.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
