JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Cost Estimation and Analysis
• Develop detailed cost estimates for furniture and joinery projects, covering materials, labor, and overheads.
• Review project plans, designs, and client needs to ensure accurate cost calculations.
• Monitor market trends to anticipate price fluctuations in materials and labor.
• Assess project risks and develop contingency plans for potential cost overruns or delays.

Team Management and Supervision
• Lead the estimation team to ensure quality work and timely delivery.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to enhance team performance.
• Implement strategies to improve team productivity and efficiency.

Contract Review and Analysis
• Review contracts to assess cost implications and ensure alignment with estimates.
• Identify risks and opportunities within contract terms and conditions.

Coordination with Procurement and Logistics
• Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams for accurate costings and material delivery.
• Work with departments to establish standard costing principles and improve efficiency.

Collaboration and Coordination
• Ensure estimates align with design intentions and project timelines.
• Confirm design feasibility with production managers from a cost and execution perspective.
• Partner with procurement teams for timely sourcing of materials and components.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management
• Identify and evaluate suppliers for cost-effective procurement.
• Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors to integrate their costs into estimates.

Bid Preparation and Presentation
• Prepare competitive bid proposals while maintaining profitability.
• Present cost breakdowns to clients and internal stakeholders, addressing queries.

Budget Monitoring and Reporting
• Monitor project costs to ensure adherence to budgets.
• Prepare variance reports and suggest cost-reduction improvements.
• Maintain accurate financial records for estimates and project costs.

Quality Assurance
• Ensure estimates meet industry standards, project quality requirements, and client specifications.
• Verify that materials and processes align with quality expectations.

Requirements:
Required Skills:
• Expertise in cost estimation and project budgeting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and specialized estimation software.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating project specifications and material costs.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing teams and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to review and interpret contract terms and conditions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of joinery and FF&E production processes and materials.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Certifications in cost estimation or project management (e.g., Certified Estimator, PMP).
