The opportunity

EY-Parthenon has a strong and rapidly growing Health Care practice. Our work spans the payer and provider sectors. Representative projects include growth strategy for top providers looking to IPO, expansion strategy for multi-site providers, assessment of new health care business ventures and commercial due diligence for private equity firms investing across the healthcare landscape. Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will lead on the delivery of client engagements across the region to a high standard while ensuring that quality of the client relationship moves to the next level during delivery. You will work closely with the clients to define the objective and scope of the engagements and deliverables in consultation with the Engagement Partner.

Our Senior Managers think like an entrepreneur, stay abreast of current business and industry trends, and use creative techniques, analyses and presentations to answer clients' most important questions. The range of assignments include developing long-term strategies for organizations, evaluating the potential acquisition of businesses, improving achievement outcomes, developing new marketing channel strategies, reducing operating costs, and evaluating new business ventures. They support the Sector Strategy Leader in building high quality client relationships, developing sharp points of view, and sector focused thought leadership.

Skills and attributes for success

- In-depth understanding of the GCC and broader MENA healthcare markets, from a provider, payer and patient perspective. Strong understanding of market dynamics, key players, trends and ways to help clients better make strategic decisions related to their capital agenda.
- Develop business strategies using tools such as market analysis, customer research, macroeconomic forecasting, and portfolio optimization and take full responsibility for the completion of cases from inception, shaping the direction, and proactively consulting with the Engagement Partner to ensure client value.
- Review transaction rationale and/or deal documents to identify critical business issues and risks relating to a proposed transaction. Take a primary role in interfacing with clients and managing junior team members.
- Design and execute analyses on clients' problems and markets to validate key hypotheses.
- Design and facilitate in-depth interview programs with key company stakeholders (i.e., customers, suppliers, business partners).
- Manage, develop and motivate team members with diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services and help document the engagement procedures performed against objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the role you must have

- At a minimum, a bachelor's degree (in business, finance, economics, engineering and/or other appropriate academic major with a strong background in strategy and finance) and at least 6-8 years of related work experience.
- Experience of managing business strategy for health care firms in the provider or payer space (lifesciences/biopharma experience is also relevant but not sufficient). This can come from prior consulting work or direct experience in the health care.
- A keen ability to conduct detailed assessments of industries including value chains, products, markets, competitors, customers, channels, supply chains - from financial and operational perspectives, in order to identify risks and opportunities
- Proficiency in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary (approximately 25-50%)

Ideally, you'll also have

- MBA with two years of related work experience or graduate degree with at least three years of related work experience, with a particular focus on client advisory or strategic planning within a professional services environment. GCC experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Arabic language skills are beneficial.
